DAY 1 - HOME to BALLINA    (LD)

Monday 21st December 2026:  Welcome aboard for our Christmas holiday to Sydney. Relax, meet fellow travellers, and enjoy the journey. We stop for lunch before continuing to Ballina for our overnight stay.

DAY 2 - BALLINA to PORT MACQUARIE     (BLD)

Tuesday 22nd December:  This morning we head south, stopping in Yamba. Continuing through Coffs Harbour, we reach Urunga for lunch at Anchors Wharf Café on the Kalang River. Later, we visit Cassegrain Winery for a tasting before arriving in Port Macquarie to settle into our accommodation.

DAY 3 - PORT MACQUARIE to SYDNEY     (BD)

Wednesday 23rd December:  After breakfast we follow Ocean Drive along the coast through Lake Cathie to Laurieton, enjoying spectacular scenery. We stop at Moorland Cottage for morning tea—famous for its scones—before continuing to Sydney to settle in for the next four nights.

DAY 4 - SYDNEY OPERA HOUSE & MARITIME MUSEUM    (BLFD)

Thursday 24th December:  We begin at the iconic Sydney Opera House, home of the Sydney Symphony Orchestra, where a guide takes us through this world-renowned architectural masterpiece. After our tour, we enjoy lunch at the Opera Bar. This afternoon, we visit the Australian National Maritime Museum, which explores the nation’s deep ties to the sea through commerce, defence, immigration, exploration, and play. After time at the museum, we return to the hotel to refresh before heading to the Sydney Tower Eye for dinner. At 250 metres above the city, it offers unrivalled 360-degree views of Sydney’s landmarks and beyond.

DAY 5 - MERRY CHRISTMAS    (BLD)

Friday 25th December:  Merry Christmas! After a leisurely breakfast we board a festive Sydney Harbour lunch cruise, complete with all the trimmings and spectacular views from three decks. This afternoon is at leisure—perhaps enjoy a walk around Darling Harbour—before returning to the hotel to relax ahead of dinner.

DAY 6 - BLUE MOUNTAINS     (BD)

Saturday 26th December:  Today we head into the Blue Mountains, driving along Cliff Drive to Echo Point for views of the famous Three Sisters. At nearby Scenic World we ride the Scenic Railway—the world’s steepest incline—descending 415m through rainforest. A short boardwalk leads us to the Cableway, before finishing with the Scenic Skyway, gliding 270m above ravines and waterfalls. From here, sweeping views reveal the Three Sisters, Katoomba Falls, Mount Solitary and the vast Jamison Valley—truly spectacular. We return to Sydney this evening and enjoy dinner at the hotel after a fantastic day.

DAY 7 - SYDNEY to YAMBA     (BD)

Sunday 27th December:  We farewell Sydney and travel to Yamba, a coastal town known for its relaxed vibe and beautiful beaches. Along the way we pause for lunch before visiting Yamba Lighthouse, offering sweeping coastal views. We then settle into our accommodation for the final night of the tour.

DAY 8 - YAMBA to HOME     (B)

Monday 28th December:  After a wonderful Christmas holiday with friends and family, we journey home, stopping for breaks and lunch along the way. We arrive later today with lasting memories of Christmas in Sydney.

Wednesday 5th August 2026 Step back in time and enjoy a nostalgic journey aboard the heritage Mary Valley Rattler, a beautifully restored steam train that winds its way through the picturesque Mary Valley. Departing from historic Gympie Station, this charming rail experience offers stunning countryside views, rolling farmland and a relaxed pace reminiscent of a bygone era. Wednesday 2nd September 2026 “Spring has sprung, the grass has ris…” so let’s get out and enjoy the beauty of the Burrum Coast! Our day begins with a visit to the Childers Art Space and Gallery, showcasing local creativity and talent. There will be time to explore Childers and purchase morning tea at one of the local bakeries or cafés (own expense). From there, we head to Woodgate Beach to explore the Banksia Track Trail Boardwalk, an easy and enjoyable walk through coastal flora, perfect for soaking up the fresh sea air and spotting local birdlife. We’ll then take a gentle drive to Theodolite Creek, a peaceful and picturesque spot well worth the visit. To finish our day, we’ll sit down and enjoy a delicious two-course lunch at the Woodgate Beach Hotel before heading home relaxed and refreshed.
