Tamworth Country Music Festival is a must do event! The largest music festival in Australia and one of the top 10 music festivals in the world, it draws an incredible variety of country music artists from around the country and across the globe. It’s where the city and country meet in a celebration of culture, heritage and identity. DAY 1 - HOME to STANTHORPE    (LD)

Wednesday 20th January 2027:  Welcome to our tour to Tamworth for the 2027 Country Music Festival. After meeting our crew and fellow travellers, we set off to join Australia’s largest country music celebration. We pause en-route, including lunch at Warwick’s Criterion Hotel. Arriving in Stanthorpe, we check into our motel before dinner at O’Mara’s Hotel.

DAY 2 - STANTHORPE to TAMWORTH     (BLD)

Thursday 21st January:  Travelling south, we explore country towns beginning with Glen Innes, where we honour the Celtic connection at the Australian Standing Stones. Early afternoon we reach Uralla for lunch and a visit to Inverness Park Cashmere Farm. Here our welcoming hosts explain farm operations, the value of cashmere, and the spinning process, with time to view product. We finish the day in Tamworth, ready for the Country Music Festival.

DAY 3 - TAMWORTH COUNTRY MUSIC FESTIVAL     (BD)

Friday 22nd January:  This morning we visit Oxley Lookout for sweeping views of Tamworth and the Peel Valley. We then explore the Australian Country Music Hall of Fame, featuring memorabilia from legends like Tex Morton and Slim Dusty to stars such as Keith Urban and Kasey Chambers. Next is the Big Golden Guitar Tourist Centre, home to the National Guitar Museum and Gallery of Stars Wax Museum. By afternoon, the Tamworth Country Music Festival is in full swing, with more than 700 performers across 2,800 shows. Guests may purchase tickets for special performances (own expense) or simply enjoy the abundance of free entertainment, including buskers and street acts. The rest of the day is at leisure—immerse yourself in the festival atmosphere!

DAY 4 - TAMWORTH COUNTRY MUSIC FESTIVAL     (BD)

Saturday 23rd January:  The Tamworth Country Music Festival is an unforgettable festival experience like no other! Today we have a full day at the festival. Soak up the atmosphere and sing along to plenty of country music.

DAY 5 - TAMWORTH to BALLINA    (BLD)

Sunday 24th January:  With guitars still ringing from the festival, we farewell Tamworth and head to Ballina. Along the way we stop for picnic lunches, still humming country tunes after such a memorable music-filled experience.

DAY 6 - BALLINA to HOME     (B)

Monday 25th January:  After a fantastic time singing and dancing to country music, we enjoy breakfast before heading home. We stop for breaks and lunch, arriving early afternoon with memories of the Tamworth Country Music Festival .

Wednesday 5th August 2026 Step back in time and enjoy a nostalgic journey aboard the heritage Mary Valley Rattler, a beautifully restored steam train that winds its way through the picturesque Mary Valley. Departing from historic Gympie Station, this charming rail experience offers stunning countryside views, rolling farmland and a relaxed pace reminiscent of a bygone era. Sit back, relax and take in the sights and sounds of this iconic steam locomotive as it travels through the valley. Wednesday 2nd September 2026 “Spring has sprung, the grass has ris…” so let’s get out and enjoy the beauty of the Burrum Coast! Our day begins with a visit to the Childers Art Space and Gallery, showcasing local creativity and talent. There will be time to explore Childers and purchase morning tea at one of the local bakeries or cafés (own expense). From there, we head to Woodgate Beach to explore the Banksia Track Trail Boardwalk, an easy and enjoyable walk through coastal flora, perfect for soaking up the fresh sea air and spotting local birdlife. We’ll then take a gentle drive to Theodolite Creek, a peaceful and picturesque spot well worth the visit. To finish our day, we’ll sit down and enjoy a delicious two-course lunch at the Woodgate Beach Hotel before heading home relaxed and refreshed.
